Exploring Jewish Identity in the Diaspora series

                           Dr. ISAAC YETIV

                            will speak on

Israel is Sixty:  US - ISRAEL RELATIONS SINCE 1948

Currently about 85% of the Jewish population in the world is concentrated in two countries: Israel and the USA.  Hence a major factor in their growth and development if not survival will depend on the relationship between them.

We are very fortunate to have in La Jolla Dr. Isaac Yetiv, a scholar who can speak with authority on the subject. Isaac was born in Tunisia and French educated. He lived in Israel from 1950 to 1967 and was elected to the City Council of Haifa. He took part in the Six Day war and fought in Jordan and the Golan Heights.

He moved to the USA in 1967 and was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin with majors in French and African literature and minors in Hebrew and Semitic studies.   Dr.Yetiv published 5 books and about 50 articles on war and peace in the Middle East and the Israeli-Arab-US triangle and has lectured on the subject extensively in the US and abroad.

Please join us May 22 at 7:00 pm at Beth El Jacobs Family Community Hall to hear Dr. Yetiv's lucid, authoritative and very timely presentation.

The session will be followed as usual by a Q&A period.

This session will also cap the Jewish Identity program for this period.

Light refreshments will be served. There is no charge for attendance.

If you have any questions please call Victor and Nehama Moreno at (858) 657-9471 or write at nomore@san.rr.com
